Well I can only speak for my experience. I had very little trouble setting up things. And now that the Home Assistant part is running I am using and learning Node Red. I've found that Node Red is so much better then stringify.
I have Insteon Hub with Insteon devices, iPhone status and presence, Google Calendar, Sonos Music, Samsung Smartthing Hub 3 and devices, IFTTT, Harmony Remote Hub, Alexa, Ring Doorbell, LIFX color bulbs and Rachio Irrigation system all setup and working perfectly. My Raspberry Pi just runs as another hub now and has been as reliable as my other Hubs.
For me, I have found a better solution with Home Assistant and Node Red then stringify was.
The Hubitat does look nice in some ways. Unfortunately in my case it does not support most of the devices I use. Being local can be nice but this can cause limitations also. Probably easier to setup.
Good luck on your choice.
