I currently have some motorized blinds that I am controlling.
At night they will close automatically.
In the morning, I would like to open them, unless by opening them it will heat the house when it is undesired.
Some other details
- I live in SW Ontario, so it is desirable to have the blinds open through the Winter, Spring / Fall, and rainy or overcast days in the Summer
- The windows face west, and are large enough that during the summer they do significantly contribute to warming the house
- I have an Ecobee3 thermostat if that helps to be incorporated
Right now I have the flow set to look at the current temperature and open for the day only if it is below X degrees, I could add another flow to close them based on temperature, forecast, UV, etc, but would be nice to have this incorporated into a single flow. I would also like it to be smart enough to look ahead, rather than wait until the indoor temp reaches a certain value then closes the blinds again.
I have not played with variables yet, but it might be the way to go.
Thanks for any suggestions!
