I have a couple of Lutron Caséta smart switches, and up until Wednesday-ish, I was able to control them through Stringify and they worked fine. But starting around yesterday or so, I can’t seem to fully control my Lutron switches, and I wasn’t sure whether Stringify’s Lutron service might be having problems?
(I’m not sure whether it may be related, but for what it’s worth, Lutron doesn’t seem to be listed among the things at status.stringify.com?)
At any rate, just to put this out there, here’re the debugging steps that I’ve tried so far:
- I tried creating a minimized test flow that just has a button that’s connected to “fade off my living room lights over 1 minute”. Pressing the button doesn’t seem to do anything.
- If I go into the “Things” section of the Stringify app and tap on “Living Room”, I get an error message from the app that says, “Error controlling thing”.
- I also tried creating a minimized test flow that just has a button that’s connected to “set Lutron scene X”—and interestingly enough, that seems to work. So perhaps Stringify’s Lutron service might not be completely down?
- If I open the Lutron app on my iPhone, I’m able to adjust the switch from there, and it works fine.
I’m not sure what else to try here, but I’m open to any ideas. And if anyone from Stringify might be able to check whether there may be any known problems with the Lutron service, that could be handy too!
